Account & Subscription
Learn about account setup, subscription access, updates and moving between devices. Store subscription details only on controlled devices and within your client.
What do I need to create a 40VPN account?
No email address is required—just choose a username and password. Use a strong password that you do not reuse on other websites, and store your username securely. After creating your account, you can view plans, orders, client downloads and ticket status in the user panel.
Where can I find my subscription link after purchasing a plan?
Sign in to the user panel and open the Client & Subscription section. Get the subscription details for your platform, then import them into the appropriate client. Your subscription link is an account credential, so never place it in public documents, screenshots or shared pages. If your plan status has just changed, refresh the user panel before retrieving it again.
How do I update my subscription link?
Find the current subscription in your client and use its update or refresh function to reload the route list. If the old content is still shown, copy the subscription details from the user panel again and replace the existing entry. You do not need to delete routes one by one first; doing so may leave duplicate configurations.
Do I need to purchase another plan when I switch devices?
No separate purchase is needed when you change devices—40VPN supports unlimited devices. Sign in to the user panel on the new device, get the client and subscription for that platform, and configure them. When you stop using the old device, delete its saved subscription details so your account credentials are not left on an idle device.
Connections & Troubleshooting
First distinguish between local network, client permissions, subscription cache and app routing issues. Change only one condition at a time to make the result easier to interpret.
What should I check first if the client suddenly cannot connect?
First confirm that the local network can open websites normally, then update the subscription and try another route. Check that the client still has a valid configuration, the system clock is accurate and proxy mode is enabled. If no route connects, submit a ticket from the user panel with the platform, the client message and the steps you have already tried.
Why does my browser work while a particular app cannot use the proxy?
This is usually related to the client's split-routing rules, system proxy permissions or the app's connection method. Temporarily switch the client to Global mode for comparison. If Global mode works, inspect the target domain and app routing in rule mode. On mobile devices, also make sure the client's network extension permission remains enabled.
Why are no routes visible after importing the subscription successfully?
Manually update the subscription first, and confirm that you imported the complete subscription rather than a single route. If the client still has an older subscription with the same name, delete it and import the subscription again from the user panel. Also check your current plan and data status. If the client cache has not refreshed, close and reopen the client to reload the list.
What should I do if the service stops working after a system or client update?
A system update may reset network extensions, background activity or proxy permissions. Reopen the client and check its authorization status, then update the subscription, switch routes and reconnect. If the issue occurs in a specific Windows, macOS, iOS, Android or Linux environment, include the platform and error message in your ticket so it can be investigated accurately.
Speed & Routes
Route performance is affected by the local connection, cross-border links and the target service. Using fixed test content and changing one factor at a time helps reduce false conclusions.
What can I do if speeds drop or streaming buffers during peak hours?
Stop sync and download tasks that are using bandwidth, then compare nearby entry routes and different route types. Peak-hour congestion may occur on the local connection, cross-border link or target service side; repeatedly reconnecting to one route usually will not identify the cause. Update the subscription, switch routes and compare using the same content.
How should I choose a route?
For regular websites and everyday apps, start with a geographically nearby region, then adjust according to the target service's location. For streaming, choose a route in the same region as the content library. For AI Tools, check whether the target service supports the route's exit region. 40VPN covers 120+ countries / 210+ routes, so you can create route lists for different uses.
What should I do if streaming says my region is unsupported or playback is unavailable?
First confirm that the route region matches the target content library, then fully close and reopen the streaming app. In a browser, clear the site's saved region data and try again. If one route in the region does not work, update the subscription and try another route from that region; platforms may determine exit regions differently.
What can I do if an AI Tools page loads but conversations are unstable?
Keep the same route throughout sign-in and the session, and avoid frequently changing the exit region while requests are in progress. If the page loads but responses are interrupted, check whether split-routing rules send the relevant domains through different exits, then compare with a stable route in the same region. If the issue continues, record the tool name, route region and error behavior in a ticket.
Billing & Refunds
Monthly subscriptions and data packages use different data rules. Choose according to your usage frequency, then review the payment and refund terms before ordering.
What monthly subscription plans are available?
Monthly subscriptions include ¥9.9/month with 60GB, ¥18/month with 250GB and ¥28/month with 500GB. Data resets monthly on the activation date, making these plans suitable for ongoing use with a fixed monthly allowance. Choose based on your regular web, streaming, sync and download needs rather than a single usage session.
How are data packages billed, and do they expire?
Data packages remain available until used and never expire. Options include ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB and ¥658/3000GB. They suit users with irregular usage who prefer to pay according to actual consumption. Data packages and monthly subscriptions follow different billing rules, so consider your usage pattern before choosing.
How is a mid-cycle monthly subscription upgrade calculated?
For a mid-cycle monthly upgrade, the price difference is prorated into the remaining days; data still resets monthly on the activation date. Before upgrading, check the current plan and remaining status in the user panel, then select the desired tier in the plans section. Afterward, refresh the user panel and the client subscription so the account status and route list stay synchronized.
Which payment methods are supported, and how do I request a refund?
Alipay, WeChat Pay and USDT are supported, with a 60-day no-questions-asked refund policy. To request a refund, sign in to the user panel and submit a ticket with the relevant order and request details. Follow the ticket record for the processing status. Keep the order page details available to avoid submitting duplicate requests.
